Farm Visits
PLEASE NOTE: the farm is closed to alpaca tours for the month of February, opening again on Sat. 3rd. March, 2012.
Group bookings for the coming year can still be arranged during this closure.

“The Barney Hilton”
There is now an added attraction for the visitors to Rathdowney Alpaca Farm at “Triple Peaks”.
Sheila’s new project is a replica of a pioneer slab hut, built with rough- hewn hardwood roundback slabs and fitted out to remind you of years gone by, while teaching the children what life was like for the early settlers without our modern conveniences of electricity etc.
“Barney Hilton” enjoys spectacular views of the Scenic Rim, Mt. Barney National Park and beyond to Mt Lindesay.
Enjoy an old-fashioned country welcome when you make a farm-visit to “Triple Peaks”.
You will be fascinated by this unique South American Camelid and find Sheila’s introduction to “all things alpaca” very interesting and informative.
Visitors are encouraged to touch, feel and talk to the young, halter-trained males, visit the herd of mothers with their babies, (a new cria arrived in time for Easter) and meet the macho Stud Sires.
Browse in “The Alpaca Shack” where you are able to see the varied and supersoft products made from alpaca fleece, and marvel at the lightness and warmth of the luxurious fibre.
An extensive range of Australian made and handcrafted products, as well as Peruvian trinkets are on display.
Visitors are extended a warm, old-fashioned country welcome.
